Creativity is Expression to me - Timi Agbaje

In this interview with Timi Agbaje,  premium content developer, compere, Youtuber and Lawyer,  he discusses his creative side and leads us through the creative process. 

NELOC News: Can we meet you?
Guest: I am Timi Agbaje, I am an entertainer by passion, Lawyer by profession.

NNI: What defines Creativity  for you?
Guest: Creativity is basically expression to me. You conceive an idea or a concept then you express it for the world to see. Nothing is really ever new.  it’s how you express it to the world that stands you and the idea out.

NNI:  Is there any special skill required to create content? How have you been able to consistently create content?
Guest:  Lol. Special skill required to create? I doubt that. It’s a skill that gets better with consistency. I set a goal of many things I want to express over a period of time and I try to fill the timelines. I still even feel there’s a lot more I can achieve by stretching myself.

NNI: What's your definition of a good content? Creativity or Acceptance by your audience?
Guest:  A good content is creativity well expressed. An idea well conceived and sold to the market right.

NNI: How have you managed celebrity influence and popularity in your space?
Guest: Lol. There’s always something at the back of my mind asides the popularity and the buzz which is Relevance, I care more about that and less about the popularity and the buzz. That keeps me in check.

NELOC News: Is entertainment your alternative to Law?  What is the merger point for both?
Guest: Lol. They’re not alternatives to me. I feel both of them have huge stakes they contribute to life. Without entertainment, the world will be a dry, bland space and without law, there will be chaos.
I try to infuse law minutely in my creations so people catch a hint or two on how things should play.

NNI: There's this popular trend on Twitter that celebrates Nigerian Creatives. What do you think about celebrating Creatives? Do you think Government has a role?
Guest: I totally support celebrating Creatives.  It simply motivates to do more. Everyone has a role to do. There’s a joy that comes with your works being appreciated, you just want to do more. Government and Society must contribute to this.

NNI: What is your view on Global Youth Development and growth? Are we making progress?
Guest: Definitely, things aren’t how and where they used to be but there’s still a lot of work to be done especially by Africa. I mean, Afrobeats has become a global phenomenon and African artistes have been on the forefront of this and this has largely contributed to the business of music and entertainment globally. Youths across different strata of life have pushed the standards higher in different ways, it can only get better from here.

NNI: How did you strike a balance between education and entertainment, bagging a First Class at the Nigerian Law School?

Guest: Simply, Time management. I set my priorities right and I knew when and what to sacrifice for the other. And for something I would love to add, I put a very unbelievable work rate into preparing for my bar exams, studied my books and I studied the system too, the psychology of the examiners, past questions…  I understood what the courses were really about beyond reading them to pass and all of that.

NNI: What is your advice to fellow young individuals?
Guest: Lol. I would love to tell everyone out there to set crazy goals and smash them. There’s no limit to things we can all achieve. Sometimes, it’s not that it’s not working, the dream and work being put in might not just be big enough.

NNI: What should we expect from you in the near future?
Guest: More, More and More

Born on February 14th, Oluwatimileyin Agbaje is a professional movie actor, comedian, influencer, entrepreneur, professional corporate event MC, business developer and digital marketer. He is a first class graduate of Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and holds a double first class degree from the Nigerian Law School, LL.B (Hons) B.L. (First Class).

Growing up in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Timi Agbaje attended Pearl Preparatory School and thereafter proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) International School For his secondary education.

Defying the odds for a living, Timi Agbaje is the convener of Man The Mic, a public speaking initiative established since January 2017. Man The Mic is an academy with a vision of igniting and sustaining sterling communication skills in young individuals.
 

In building up his profile as a seasoned humorous Master of Ceremony, Lawyer, Public Speaker and Media Entrepreneur, Timi had his secondary education at the Obafemi Awolowo University International School, Ile Ife, between 2005-2011. He then proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, where he bagged his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) between 2012 and 2017. He was called into the Nigeria bar in 2018, after graduating with a First Class Degree from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus (BL).

Timi is passionate, goal driven and result oriented. During his time in the University, he was actively involved in several life impacting events, which helped him hone his skill in public speaking. As a Master of ceremonies, he has anchored several events for reputable organizations and well known brands. He has shared the same stage with reputable Nigerian artistes like Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Zlantan Ibile, Lil Kesh, MC Lively, and a host of others.
 

Timi is also the convener of Man The Mic, a workshop for individuals who have keen interest in and want to build a career in public speaking. His YouTube channel, Timi Agbaje, is equally hilarious and likes fashion a lot.

Since April 2015, Timi Agbaje became the Chief Executive Officer and publisher of Seal Magazine. At the time, Seal Magazine started out as a campus based publication at his alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University. He went on to lead as the Head of Operations at Applehead Multimedia, Nigeria, a contract between August 2019 to January 2020. As a lawyer, Timi Agbaje was a full time Associate at the law firm of Ukiri & Lijadu between November 2018 and May 2019
 

As a social entrepreneur, Timi Agbaje was a member of the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation and member of multiple social committees while as a student. He also took on numerous projects including the popular Ife Career Fair. As a result of his excellence, in honours and awards, Timileyin Agbaje won the Director General's Prize for First Class Degree Students at the Nigerian Law School. The Nigerian Entertainment industry, known as Nollywood is largely recognized globally and is ranked as the second largest film producer in the world, after Hollywood. Its importance is well recognized as its worth is around $9bn as at present. There are many people who have made huge success through this industry and we will be taking a look at some of them, specifically those who graduated from the University of Benin.

1. Richard Mofe Damijo

Yvonne Nelson is a Ghanaian actress who was born on November 12, 1985 in Accra, Ghana. She is a descent of the Fante people.

She started her education at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra and later proceeded to Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. She had her tertiary education at Zenith University College and Central University where she obtained a degree in Human Resource Management from zenith University College and Central University. She also obtained a Masters degree in international Relations and Diplomacy in 2020 from Ghana Institute of management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She started her career as a model, contesting in the 2005 Miss Ghana pageant. Though she didnt win the contest, she was crowned Miss photogenic and she got a two-year contract with Maxim Cosmetics after the pageantry. She delved into movie production in 2011. Her first production was the movie The Price, which was released that year.

She later won Best Picture at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanaian Movie at the 2013 City People Entertainment Awards. She has also starred in several movies, Any Other Monday, In April, and Swing. Yvonne Nelson, a former Miss Ghana contestant, bust onto the movie scene with big-screen roles in Princess Tyra and Playboy. On October 29, 2017, Nelson gave birth to her daughter Ryn Roberts with her ex-boyfriend, Jamie Roberts. Actress Yvonne Nelson founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 to help create awareness about the disease. With support from other Ghanaian celebrities, she recorded an all-star charity single and shot a video to help educate people. She also shot a video to help educate people about glaucoma. As a result of her philanthropic activities particularly in glaucoma, she was honored by Go Woman Magazine and Printex for her foundation and film career.

Yvonne Nelson, together with other celebrities, lend their voices in protests against the energy crisis in her country. She led a peaceful vigil called DumsorMustStop on May 16, 2015. She told the BBC in an interview that she may consider running for political office in the future. Biography of Dr. Adebowale David Ibrahim Adedayo (Mr Macaroni)

 

Adebowale David Ibrahim Adedayo, popularly known by his stage name Mr Macaroni, is a Nigerian Comic skit maker,an actor and a strong willed Political Activist. He is mostly known for his online skit where he mostly satirizes rich and wealthy men who have no control over themselves and ends up in a sad experience with the use of his constant phases like 'ooin' and 'you are doing well' . He was born on May 3rd, 1993 to an upper middle class Educationist mother and Journalist Father.

He attended Tendercare primary school,formerly at Ojota,now at Magodo Isheri. He then proceeded to Babcock University High school for his secondary education where he served as Head boy and graduated in 2009. In 2019, Debo gained admission to Lead University, Ibadan where he studied Law but was forced to leave by his second year due to the university accreditation issue. By 2011, he became a law student at the Houdegbe North American University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin but due to his vocal nature and always standing for people's rights that have been trampled, he was forced to leave before he could bag his degree.

After he left Cotonou, Mr Macaroni decided against continuing his education and decided to take his acting career serious. He was able to feature in few roles in movies and sitcoms but was urged by his parents to complete his education. This time,he decided to go for his passion, Theater Arts and got admission to study at the Redeemer's University, Osun State, Nigeria, where he finally bagged his dream course, Theater Arts and film studies in 2018 not after several issues with the above named university at the court.

Mr Macaroni started his career as an actor in Nollywood before creating comedy videos. In an interview conducted with him, he made it known that he had been an actor for a long time by doing movies and soap operas. He made mention that roles were no longer coming at some point and it took a while before he decided to start online comedy. He has featured in various movies like Ponzi, Ayinla, Kings of Theives (Ageshinkole),a popular Tv series, Ile Alayo, Jenifa's diary, Mistresses and many others. He wrote and directed a Yoruba based movie 'Oba Ara'. He got the Mr Macaroni name after he left Houdegbe North American University. He acted in a sitcom titled "Face 2 Face" where he was taken up as an extra role and the director needed a name for his character, that was how Mr Macaroni name was coined.

His brown Agbada has become a signatory costume as it is a symbol of a wealthy man in Nigeria.
