Biography of Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha

Born on March 12, 1980, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is a Nigerian actress, Movie Director, mentor, public speaker, and Film Producer. Chioma Chukwuka, a stylish damsel, wife, and mother of two, was born in Lagos State but is originally from Oraifite in the Nigerian state of Anambra in the Ekwusigo Local Government Area. At Onward Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State, she finished her primary education. She then continued on to the Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha, Anambra State, for her secondary education. The next stop for Chioma was Lagos State University, where she pursued a degree in banking and finance. Her performance in the 2000 film "The Apple" marked the start of her acting career. In the same year, Chioma appeared in the movie The Handkerchief as well.

 

For her work in the film "Sins of the flesh," she received the Africa Movie Academy Award for "Best Actress in a Leading Role" in 2007. In 2010, she received the Afro Hollywood Award for "Best Actress in a Leading Role."

For "Best Actress" in the 2014 film "Accident," she was also a nominee for the African Movie Academy Award. She has 20 years of experience and has appeared in more than 350 Nollywood films. She has also produced 6 films and won numerous awards. Chioma is a film producer who has worked on over 8 films, including the critically acclaimed blockbuster On Bended Knees.

Aspiring talent, particularly actors, are taught by seasoned filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and other industry professionals what it takes to succeed in the film, TV, and theater industries through the Masterclass with Chioma platform, which she announced the launch of in January 2019. She served as a brand ambassador for a number of Nigerian and foreign commercial brands, including the telecommunications company Globacom Nigeria, Omo Detergent, and Harpic Cleaner before taking on the role of brand ambassador for Erisco Foods in November 2018.
