Kunle Afolayan, a Nigerian actor, producer, and director, was born on September 30, 1975. In Ebute Metta, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria, he was born into the family of Adeyemi Josiah Afolayan (Ade Love, the father). He is the oldest of three children, and his siblings are Moji, Aremu, and Gabriel Afolayan (brother). He is a native of the Yoruba ethnic group known as the Igbomina, which is found in Nigeria's South-Western Kwara state. Because of his father's acting career, Kunle Afolayan developed a love for movies. He actively participates whenever his father travels to Nigeria's cities and villages to perform. After witnessing the Tade Ogidan-produced film Hostage, in which Tope Idowu's performance served as inspiration, he was greatly impacted by his father's work and began to develop a passion for acting and film making.

Kunle afolayan received his primary and secondary education in Nigeria, just like any other educated nigerian. he continued his education at a higher level of school, earning a bachelor of science in economics. kunle afolayan, who received his diploma from the new york film academy after graduating from the university, joined there in 2005 to study digital filmmaking. he obtained all the information required for the task at hand and had more than enough practical experience to demonstrate his proficiency; he is well-prepared for the field of filmmaking in the future. after completing his studies, kunle afolayan worked in finance and briefly in acting before deciding to give up banking and focus solely on the film industry. 

His career as an actor and filmmaker started see officially in the year 2005 when he appeared in a movie titled Ti Ala Ba Ku. A lot happened in 2005 for Kunle as he also established Golden Effects Pictures his own movie production company.

His company Golden Effects Pictures was established in 2005, it is a company that mainly focuses on film productions, rentals of film equipment, movie editing, consulting and other movie production-related works. This company has been so focused on its goal which is to always produce movies that will take the country by storm and they have done this times without numbers. Golden Effect Pictures is a registered company, they are known for unique scripts and content development, TV commercials, documentaries, TV productions and so on producing high-quality films. The company has a section for a modern state-of-the-art studio which is being used by advertising agencies and also for independent producers. In 2011, he and Zeb Ejiro were chosen to represent Nigeria at the Subversive Film Festival. In 2013, the popular film Phone Swap had its French premiere, and in 2011, he took home the Public Choice Award at the first Nollywood Week in Paris, France. The 2014 film October 1, which was based on the history of Nigeria's official declaration of independence on October 1st, 1960, genuinely shocked the entire nation of Nigeria. As the second-highest grossing Nigerian film of all time, this one helped him advance professionally and become one of the top producers of movies in Nigeria to this day.
