| Reaction Of Buhari's Media Aide To The Killing Of Deborah. |
A Public Analyst, Mr. Edward Joshua expressed his view over the burning issue. He viewed it as "religious war", which he said has been in existence for years in Africa, not only in Nigeria. According to him, he said religious war kills faster and the government isn't paying attention to it.
While responding, Comrade Ogunlagbe Seyifunmi said he feels government is actually propelling the religious war for their own interest rather than promoting religious tolerance. "Every year, Politicians keep releasing updates, telling Nigerians to imbibe in the spirit of one Prophet and the other; but the same politicians are not demonstrating the tolerance," he said.
He added "When the issue of blasphemy comes on the lady burnt to death, the highest President Buhari could say was to tell Nigerians to keep claim while the perpetrators are brought to book. Till today, we didn't hear anything about it. Where is the tolerance?"
On his side, Mr. Joshua said "One of the widely spread war around the world is "Religious War", at times, it thus come with "Ethnicity". This war is so dangerous that it could spread fast and lead to so much bloodshed." He added that if Nigerian and African leaders keep prompting this, it may not go well when it escalates.
While expressing his own view, Miss Eniola, said the war has started already, only that Nigerians see the ones visible. She added that, "The war has started, we have only seen that of Deborah, how about those ones killed by Islamic jihadist and those ones behind the scene!
"Funny enough, Government isn't addressing the issue, they rather laugh and call it holy War. Who is the saint? Let thou cast the first stone." She added.
To Mr. Joshua, he buttressed more on his point "African as a whole has lost peace the very moment we abandoned our religion and embrace foreign religion. Are we to serve the Son/Prophet? Religion is to serve GOD; and the three religions call on God. So, why can't we be one?"
He gives more holistic sight to his points, "We can not be one, because the foreign religion isn't given to Africa to unite us. Take note, this same foreign religion was purposely brought into Nigeria and Africa as a whole to divide us and to make us think we are not one.
"More importantly, to allow the Colonial Masters (White) steal all our good things and resources in Africa. That was the primary work of the religion we adopted. I know most of you will deny because of the dogmatic nature we accepted what we can not question.
"On a more clearer view, may I tell you both Islam and Christianity were imposed on us the same way Lord lugard signed the whole kangaroo agreement to make Nigeria as a Country. So, the same way we questioned how we come together now as Nigeria; while some citizens are marginalized and suffering; same way the religion they brought demands questioning.
"If you care to know, the religion and Education were brought to Africa to spread propaganda. Propaganda was first used in religion, before it finds its way into politics.
"Nothing is propaganda, it's a way of calling lie the truth. Isn't that what we see now?"
Miss Eniola however called on Nigerian leaders and that of Africa to rise up and protect the lives of their citizens just as they all sworn oath to protect in their respective Country.
Mr. Joshua said "Nigerian leaders and religious leaders should be more tolerant and work to unite the Country in respective of religion and cultural affliction."
