$300m in looted funds to be returned to FG from Switzerland

Abuja - Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama has disclosed that negotiations are currently under way with a number of countries around the repatriation of looted funds stashed abroad.

The Minister revealed exchanges between Nigeria and Switzerland, saying that the Swiss had already repatriated $700 million in looted funds, Punch reports.

Onyeama also made mention of a further $300 million that had yet to be recovered but would be repatriated soon. He also revealed ongoing negotiations with the United Kingdom and the US around the repatriation of funds, saying that President Buhari had garnered international cooperation around the loot drive.
