Cyber Security; Virus Is an Attack, There is a need to Update Antivirus Software Constantly - Expert

This article talks about Technology, Virus; and how to prevent electronics from Cyber attack.

What is Technology: Technology has taken over almost the daily activities of human; it is rear to see an Adult that can stay-off the internet or avoid Technology for a day.

No doubt, the World is in a Technological Age and most of our activities and services are now done digitally. Businesses are shifting online with less capital and more protect. With the advent of Metaverse, Mata CEO, Mark seems to recognize more the fact that live is changing and there is need for a change in the conduct of human actives.
With almost everyone and everything depending on Technology, the big question that posses fear is "How protected is the Cyber Space?" This is a great concern for internet Users and Tech Experts are working day and night to improve the Cyber Security network.

Cyber Security; Virus Is An Attacks, There Is A Need To Update Antivirus Software Constantly - Expert
Online Security

Daily News Report had Interview with a Cyber security Expert- Dr. Benson Peters, to discuss on Cyber Security and Antivirus Protection System (APS).

Quest: Good day Dr. Thanks for coming on the programme. Let us begin with Cyber security. Tell us more on it.

Guest: it's my pleasure to be here. On Cyber-security, let's breakdown the two component words; Cyber and Security.

Cyber simply means any internet-connected systems, I mean anything connect to system.
While security equally means protection or guide against anything. Hence, Cyber-security is the guide or protection of any internet connected systems such as Software, Hardware and Data from the hackers. It also means the protection of information, which are stored as softwares on our servers, flash, hard-drives, floppy disc and database from cyber threats or hackers, known as cyber-security.

Quest: How possible can we classify the Cyber Security?

Guest: The cyber security could be classified into the following:

1. Network Security: A network security is to protect ussers, integrity and safety of any network, WiFi and other shared files connected to the network. With network protection, ussers will be free from potential hackers and virus. Some of the Network securities include: Anti-spyware programs, antivirus, firewall, two step verification for applications, etc.

2. We also have Application Security; it's to guide any application from vulnerable virus and threat which may affect the designs and usage of such application. Such applications are designed to maintain and upgrade the security of the App.

Quest: In the cause of our discussion, we shall go into virus more deeply and how to prevent it. But, tell us why we must embrace cyber-security in this Century.

Importance of cyber security
Guest: The importance of cyber security can not be overemphasized, especially in today's World, where everyone is making use of one Technology and the other. With an increasing number of internet users these days, various devices and programs, large amount of data is generated on daily basis; this include personal and sensitive data, personally identifiable information (PII), intellectual property, governmental and industry information systems, passwords and files, to protect all these data from cyberthreat who are also hackers, hence, everyone needs cyber-security.
Without a cyber-security program in place, various organizations; Private and Public establishment cannot defend themselves against data breach, making it an irresistible target for cyberthreats.

Without Cyber-security gadgets and tools, all applications and data are vulnerable to any breach

Some of the benefits of ensuring cyber-security include:
  1.  Networks protection from cyberattacks/hackers,
  2. Prevent unauthorized ussers or network to access,
  3. Business protection from cyberthreat,
  4. Privacy of ussers, customers and employees and visitors to any site is ensured.
  5. Sensitive Data (PII & PHI) is protected from hackers.
  6. It also reduces the risk in organization. That is why most Telecommunications and app developers spend heavily on protection of cyberspace.
  7. With cyber security, it protects business and help for continuity since it will gain more trust from the users.
Quest: Can you help breakdown some ways which cyberthreat can come in.
Guest: Cyberthreat can come in any forms.

How cyberthreat comes
1. Adware: Displaying any advertisements that are based on spying on ussers, with a view to obtaining valuable data and information from users.
2. Malware: some Softwares are designed to infiltrate a computer system and possibly damage it without the user’s knowledge or consent. Some of them include Viruses: it's a code that runs on a machine without the user’s knowledge and infects the computer when executed.
3. Also, Trojan Horse, a malicious software that is designed to disguise as a piece of harmless or desirable software.
4. Spam: These activities that abuses electronic messaging systems,  most commonly through email on phones and computers. Spammers often exploit a company’s open mail relays to send their messages to people. The Google mail App has helped to protect ussers from spam messages by allowing it ussers know that this message is a spam.

Quest: As we prepare to roudoff, let us talk more on Antivirus. Dr., kindly explain to us the term- Antivirus.

What is antivirus
Guest: Antivirus is a software program or set of programs that are designed to protect, prevent, detect and take out malacious software like Trojans, Adware, and software viruses from Application.
No doubt, all these tools are important for ussers to ensure protection of their data and files.

Quest: How does the antivirus work and how can internet ussers use it as protection.
Guest: We must thank most of our App and Tech developers these days, the cyberspace is becoming more secured from cyberthreats. Like I said earlier, the antivirus is to protect applications and system, most of the tools must be installed by users or updated to up-to-date, because a computer without anti-virus software installed will be infected within minutes of connecting to the internet space. Due to the increasing rate of virus these days, the anti-virus companies update their protection tools regularly to deal with the more than 50,000 new pieces of malware created on daily basis.

Quest: We have many companies building anti virus, what purpose does Antivirus serve differently.
Guest: Yes, we now have many Antivirus applications, they worked differently but, they have many things in common. First is to help users scan, detect and remove malacious software. Also, to allow ussers to schedule scans to either automatic or manual performance. It also alert for potential threat, especially to saved passwords that are breached. Google is working more on this and has been providing it ussers with more excellent experiences.

Quest: How do we prevent Virus on Our Devices?

Guest: We can do this in many ways, but core amongst them are:

How to prevent devices from hackers and Virus:
  1. Users should be careful of the application they install on their phones. When installing software, users should choose custom settings over automatic. This is to ensure no spam or corrupt files are included in your installation.
  2. Users must avoid using public storage devices, like general Flash or USB. Don't insert an unknown USB or flashdrive into your computer or phone.
  3. Users must always download all their software and applications from reliable sources on the internet. More importantly, be sure to run your downloaded program through your antivirus software after completion. Thanks to Goggle as well, they help to notify their users and prevent them from downloading untrusted files and app on the Google Play Store.
  4. Users must always read the privacy policy of site or link to know how secured their data is. Some Government agencies are also watching over many of those applications, especially the ones used daily, to know when data are breached and to call to action the owner of such application and site.
Quest: Many thanks for your time with us sir. Lastly, what is your advice to Internet users, Application developers, software and hardware users?

Quest: It's my pleasure to be here Mr. Moderator. Firstly, I will advise all app developers to always improve their security system to protect users.
Internet Users must also embrace security product from a reputable brand to protect their devices from viruses and spyware devices.
To those using any application and micro-blogging site, they should ensure they turn on "two-factor authentication" for such application.
Also, Internet ussers and those using phones and laptops must always update their security settings regularly.

Interview: Going For A Full Housewife?

Interview: Going For A Full Housewife?

To be or marry to a full Housewife is to marry or disallow your wife from engaging in any extra business outside the home. To break it down, it is to marry or be a complete wife whose only business is to do house choirs like: cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family; while the husband performs all the monetary business and works to keep the Family running.

There have been divergent opinions from different angles; especially from Women who insist on staying as full Housewife.

Though, some Men chose to marry and make their wives only partake in home affairs while they deal with keeping the family with their money.

How good or bad is being a full Housewife? Do people still do it? Daily News Report samples opinions of couples and singles to know their perspectives about the topic of discussion.

To begin with Mrs Akinduro, a woman married since five years, she said she rejected being a full Housewife from her husband. She affirmed thus "since my teenage, I love to do business, I don't like demanding money from people. So, I started having a dream to build my business after I graduated from the University"

Mrs. Akinduro also added that after she got married to her husband, they already had the agreement to allow her to work even since when the dou began to date.

Her husband, Engineer Seyi Aanuoluwapo confirmed to us that "...to be sincere, I never wanted to allow my wife work, because I will be busy and she must not be too busy to take care of our kids. But, after we agreed to put our children in the boarding house, all got settled and she was already doing her business before we finally got married."

To see how it looks on another Culture, Daily News Report also contact Ms. Bello, who told us that she enjoyed being a full housewife. She said her husband wanted it that way and she needs to be submissive to her husband.

When asked how comfortable she is with the position, she said "There is no regret, though my husband may not give me what I demand at times quickly; but Allah is helping us and my husband is trying, we are doing very okay."

On a contrary opinion, Mr. Ahmed, a man who just got married few weeks ago said if his wife chooses to work, it's good and will benefit them. "I don't see any big deal in allowing my wife to work. To me, why some Men don't allow their wives to work is because some Men are too jealous, they don't want their wives to look outside, not to talk of any Man sighting her. So, they keep full housewife, " he added.

Mr. Ahmed also said as for him, he would prefered his wife working and not a full housewife. He said the current situation in Nigeria currently can not allow only the Man take responsibility of the whole family.

Daily News Report also sampl opinions from young adults. From our report, many of the ladies disagreed to be a full housewife. On a contrary, Miss Chinyere said she loves counting money, so she disagreed with full housewife. Mr. John, a 400 level Student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria; said his future wife must be ready to work.

We also ask further to know if it is laziness that made some women go for full Housewife. In our report, it indicates full Housewife could be cultural in nature; women from the Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani tribes seem to go for full housewife, while the Ibos in the southern part of Nigeria mostly go for engaging in Business with their husbands.

But, when contact, Mrs. Yemisi, a trader who engage in buying and selling of clothes; she said the decision for any woman to be a full Housewife must come from both couples. She insisted that Men should not force full Housewife nature on their wives.

For her reason, she said "There is scarcity of money, and the economy is somehow shaking these days. So, if the couples engage in their businesses, that will help and keep the family running with peace."

She however concluded that taking care of the family is the responsibility of both Husband and Wife, hence need be for them to share the responsibilities as they like, so as to build a lasting marriage.

Opinion: How To Know When Children Started Having Sex

This article provides insight to romance among teens and how to know when Children started having Sex.

This purpose of this documented opinion a to provide an in-depth analysis to the subject of discussion and to have holistic views on the topic.
Opinion: How To Know When Children Started Having Sex
Opinion pull on how teen S@x

Sexual activity, which usually comes with s@xual intercourse has been one of the topics taking the centre stage for years, with more focus on the Children at their younger age who are already into such act.

For a young child of age 11 to 20, getting involved into s@xual activities is becoming more rampant in the World of today; though, there are still some of them in that age bracket that are still undefiled.

It is, to some extent believed that s@xual activities should come up only among Adults and couples, with less from those within age 11 to 20 (they are classified as Children for the purpose of this article). The age 11-20 bracket are still believed to be under the care of their Parents, so when such happens among the children, there are always some changes in the Childrens' characters, especially to their parents and society.

Here are the signs to see when Children start having sexual intercourse:

Is rudeness also a sign? What are other signs to notice? Daily News Report sampled opinions on some signs to watch out for, to know if a child has started having s@x.

Ms. Tomi said, "it is normal for most adolescent girls to exhibit rudeness at some point. It's a most confusing transitional stage of a child's Life. So not all rudeness is signs of sexual indulgence."

"As a matter of fact, many are not even rude when they have tasted it. They become more friendly, happy, always in high spirit and willing to voluntarily help out at home. This is particularly so for girls."

"Others become extremely secretive, distant and withdrawn. In all, there is no exact and proven sign to know."

While sharing his own experience when he was at the age bracket, Mr. Nathaniel said, "Most times for tennagers, they begin to develop unnecessary guts, they may have little or no respect for their superiors, always mindful of their looks; I mean their body and appearance anywhere and they are secretive.

"They beginning to be disrespectful and happy over something that is supposed to bring anger. I was once in that shoes."

Ms. Tomi added that, "The best thing is, try as a parent or guardian or as an elder to build a non-judgemental relationship with your kids, wards or younger ones, so they can always confide in you when stuff happens. That's the only way to know for sure."

Mrs. Evelyn, a-29-year old Lady shared her own opinion, which took her down memory lane. "Please, don't associate rudeness or outings with sex. I was once a victim of this. It is very normal for teenagers to rebel, the most destructive stage is the adolescent stage, I could remember that teachers, neighbors and my mom used to think that I had started having sex cos I was mostly in the company of boys, meanwhile I hated the thought of having boyfriend at such tender age.

"Those days I was addressed as prostitutes, I never had a boyfriend, still I got to the university 5 years later. It was when we did a program in church that time, they said all virgins should come outside, that was when my parents and neighbors believed that I was a virgin. Stop associating adolescent hormone or rudeness to having sex."

In response to Mrs. Evelyn, Mrs. Sandra frowns on why her Pastor will call out Virgins. "I totally understand where you are going, but that your Pastor needs to understand that virginity doesn't mean someone is righteous. There are virgins that have not had a man penetrate them, but they've experienced all sorts of sexual pleasures.

"Virginity shouldn't even be a show off. So in order words, it's only the prayers of the Virgins that came out that will get to God's ears. It's a church, everybody should pray."

Mr. Frank, a pure and applied Psychologist gave more insights to the topic. According to him, he said it requires one to have an understanding of it, without only believing that rudeness, outing, secrecy, stubbornness, etc., are signs of s@xual engagement. He called those "trait in adolescents."

While giving clues to some of the signs, he said, "Their body will be sweeting them most times, wanting to have Sex. Often smiling and doing some sexy moves each time they see the opposite gender. They lack respect at some point though, especially to their parents and elders. You will notice they start dressing neatly and always clean. When you send them errands, they will make sure thier legs are neat. Always laughing out loud unnecessarily. They also stay longer on calls, especially to their opposite Gender."

Mr. Edward added that, "Teenage starts from 13 and ends at 18. When a child around this age bracket starts having sexual relationship which is emotionally attached, they get withdrawn from there normal playfulness, they get more excited relating with adults and adult issues.

"Whenever you send them for an errand, they will wash their legs, change clothes and rub powder on the face. Those are my own signs though. But, certainly the level of neatness increases and some of them become more bigger in body sizes."

He also listed some of the possible signs as thus: "Lack of concentration, become conscious of vital parts of his or her body, starts concentrating more on her looks (mostly girls), sneaking around and lying to cover up, becoming rude at times, some of them also assume the position of an adult, rapid development of some vital parts of her body like breast..etc.. some of them could also be distracted in their Education and may start having low marks from school's test and exams.

"Privacy demand will also come in. They always want privacy and to be alone in the house.

They become withdrawn from parents so as to avoid unnecessary suspicion and questions. The girls will stop opening their body in front of their mum."

Adding her own points, Mrs. Adetola said S@x education is very important for the children, before they learn it from someone else, which she said could be terrible most of the time.

She however listed some of the signs, which she said are latest signs to watchout for nowadays.

"You will discover the young male having so much interest in female and always wanting or interested in gist linking to female, he no longer want to feel like a child and will want to prove he is grown-up, he is an adult now and can take care of himself. In some instances, he can equates himself with those far ahead of him.

"For the female, the boldness she begins to exhibit, She now looks at a man right in the eyes without fear like she used to be, disrespect may set in between her and her equals from opposite sex, the terms she uses to greet may change to e.g- 'guy, how far, xup dear', in fact, the way she looks at older men without fear is more of the signs to watch out for these days."

Global Warming and the Danger to the Planet

Global Warming and the Danger to the Planet

Global warming and the impact on planet

Across the world, global warming has become the trending topic people engage in most times. Due to the nature of global warming and how it affects billions of lives around the World, all leaders and government across the Nations in the World do meet regularly to discuss how to fight global warming and ways by which Countries of the World can embrace the Green House system and emission free society for good, Eco-friendly system.

Global warming has caused catastrophic climatic events and has keep on ravaging the whole Universe, annihilating entire Villages and Towns and causing a drastic effect on the oceans, rivers and crippled Economy.

To bring light to Global Warming; effects and possible solutions, Daily News Report had interview with a Sociologist based in the United States of America- Ms. Jannah Chris Morga is a citizen of America, an Environmental Activist and a lover of eco-friendly system.

Quest: Welcome on the Program Ms. Jannah Chris Morga. To start with, what do we mean by Green House Effect.

Guest: Thank you for having me. Basically, the green house effect is a natural gradual process by which the Earth retains some of the energy of the sunrays and utilizes it to warm it enough to sustain life on the planet.

Also, this process resolved by the presence of some gases in the earth's surroundings, that form a layer around it, and are known as "Green House Gases" (GHG).

Quest: All over the World, World leaders do come together to discuss global warming and ways to fight it. What makes it an important discussion and what leads to global warming?

Guest: Global warming is crucial discussion that must be discussed by everyone in the world. This concerns discussing how damaged the Planet is and how we can help prevent the planet from further damages.

Global warming and Green House Gases

Many things we do around us do lead to global warming. Global warming and improving green house effect are synonymous with each other. Human activities like: Bush burning, burning of fossil fuels, excessive smoke discharges from Industries, Vehicles and the deforestation of forests have led to rapid increase in the concentration of the Green House Gases, mainly carbon dioxide, Nitrous Oxide and Methane in the earth's outer atmosphere, which are basically responsible for trapping and locking excessive heat inside the environment and thus increasing the overall temperature of the earth, which inturn leads to the phenomenon of Global Warming.

We can notice that the heat is gradually increasing in the planet these days, this is as a result of global warming.

Quest: Is Global Warming only caused by smokes?

Guest: No, we also have bad chemicals, odurs and waste contributing to increased rate of global warming. Factory Chemicals, dumping of  Nylon, Sachet, rubbers and the likes into the Rivers, Seas and Oceans are not helping the Planet and the living things inside to survive.

By dumping rubber, glass, iron and nylon materials into the Rivers, the Fishes and other acquatic animals inside the oceans are endangered already. With the heat in the plant and rubbers, Nylon and pebbles in the Oceans, this  will block the flow of waters and the Sea will keep rising and this sometimes lead to flooding that has swept away millions of homes and rendered many homeless, while some are dead.

Quest: What are some of the effects of Global warming on the World's Climate?

The Effects of global warming on the climate are:

Guest: With all the aforementioned dangers of Global warming, indeed, it has emerged as one of the biggest threats to our planet and lives in this Century. Also, it has been proven that due to the increase of the Green House Gases in our outer atmosphere, the earth's temperature has warmed by 0.74 degree Celsius over the last Century.

Some of the common devastating effects of global warming have resulted in disruption of the earth's surface, climatic change, all these also lead to floods, famines, cyclones, droughts and has also reduced the health production of Fishes in the Oceans and Rivers, etc,.

Quest: How can we prevent Global warming?

Here is how to prevent Global Warming

Quest: Global warming can be helped and prevented by individual and government around the world.

For individual, we must learn to keep the Environment, Rivers and Oceans and water ways more cleaner and free from waste; such as Nylon, Sachet, Rubbers and others must be disposed properly. We must learn to plant Trees as well. Homes should embrace Hot plate and other electric cooking ways; While others can still make use of Gasoline cooking for the meantime.

For Government, more awareness must be created about global warming and its danger. There a need for everyone to embrace the green House and Eco-Friendly system. Proper and regulated waste management must be developed to handle the waste Collection.

All Government must also work to leverage on emission free vehicles and eco-friendly electricity. Laws and strict regulations must be made to guide the ecological behavior of human and necessary punishment must be carried on anyone violating the rules guiding the Eco System in the environment. Government at all levels must also encourage and plant Trees.

Global Warming and the Danger to the Planet
Ms. Jannah Chris Morga planting Tree

Quest: What is your advice for everyone around the whole World?

Guest: I will advice them to too the environment safe and always plant Trees. Plant a memory, plant a Tree regularly, do it today for tomorrow sake.

Let us save our planet from the harmful effects of global warming. Let us keep promoting green house and eco-friendly Planet.

Interview: Alarming Rate of Rape In The Society

Interview: Alarming Rate of Rape In The Society
Rape In The Society

Do you know that apart from "Corruption", Rape has also gotten to the danger zone  as a menace in many Countries of the world!

Daily News Correspondent was privileged to meet and sample opinions of some people on the issue of rape rocking the Society.

What is rape?

In a simple definition, Rape means to force sexual intercourse or any other sexual activities on someone.

Causes of Rape

Some of the Identified causes of Rape include, but not limited to:

1. High emotional Tension

The libido in most humans cannot be overemphasized, some Men/Women have high sexual urge which in most cases cannot be over controlled and at that same point passing through seduction from opposite sex. This can make him or her briefly reach a conclusion that forcing the opposite sex will make him/her satisfied.

2. Revenge

Cheat breakups (Revenge): Some guys may think setting up a lady and raping her will let her realised how hurtful he experienced when she left him for another richer Guy/Men

3. Inability to understand the will and the word of God.

According to Mr. Olayinka, he opines, saying "..all I can say about the issue you raised is that we should all pray that bad spirit shouldn't control our soul. All this crimes which people are committing are not just from their will. Some are under a spell, some is a kind of madness which can't be properly define."

A Psychologist, Dr. Ibukunnle explained Rape as "a forceful sexual intercourse without the consent of other party involved." To the Dr, he called It an Assault,  which may be caused by many factors:

The Other causes of Rape:

i. Overexposure to nudity,

ii. Arrogance  on the part of Ladies,

III.  Absence of home training,

iv.  Lack of fear of God.

Rape is a big act and crime against humanity, because victims of rapists will hardly forget it.

According to Dr. Ibukunnle, solution to curb rape act should be "Capital Punishment/Life Imprisonment."

What are the Justice for Rape Victims:

How well and fast does a rape victim gets Justice, especially in Nigeria and some African countries. Report indicates that it takes time for rape case to get settled in Nigerian court.

According to the Nigerian legal system on rape, the rape victim must prove to the court the penetration before been cross-examined by the Court for justice to be served.

To prove a rape case is becoming deficult, even than the rape act. At times, it might even be difficult to pinpoint who is guilty or not due to the technicality of the case in most cases.

"Rape a behaviour that needs to be totally eradicated. This has been relating itself in this our dear Country. where our ladies are no more secured, where no capital punishment attached to it. I think Nigeria needs to wake up and let's reason together as a Country that will flourish; the lives of everybody should not be endanger due to rape," Comrade Stephen opined.

Still on the rape and the breakdown, a Pharmacist and psychologist, Dr. Emeka opined thus "Rape is just very bad, am not a good judge of character but psychological assessment is required then in court. Also, there jail term should be very long, giving capital punishment shouldn't be for everything only in cases of murder or terrorism or where raping cases is in an alarming rate."

Opnions on some common causes of rape, Dr. Emeka said  "On random ones, some ladies are found of showing there private parts to lure some men into such act.  Yes! You are being  addressed the way your dressed.

"For you putting on Skippy, tight skirt and short trousers, what signal or message do you think it is sending?

"Aside that, some guys, do rape ladies for ritual reasons."

While highlighting the effects and aftermath of rape, he noted:

"The effects and aftermath of rape can include both physical trauma and psychological trauma.

"However, physical force is not necessarily used in rape, and physical injuries are not always a consequence. Deaths associated with rape are known to occur, though the prevalence of fatalities varies considerably across the world."

"For  rape victims, the more common consequences of sexual violence are those related to reproductive health, mental health, and social wellbeing."

The Effect of Rape in the Society

1. Physical  impact: This comes with deformation of the victim and the bad feelings.

2. Gynecologic: Gynecology has to do with the study of Medical Problems of Women, especially the reproductive system, it's another branch of Medicine. Hence, the common Gynecologic consequences experienced by rape survivors include- Vaginal or anal bleeding, infection and Hypoactive sexual desire disorder

3. Vaginitis or vaginal inflammation

4. Dyspareunia: It means painful sexual intercourse.

5. Vaginismus: This means a condition affecting a woman's ability to engage in any form of vaginal penetration.

6. Chronic pelvic pain: Victim of rape could experience pains in the bones all over their Body, which could cause discomfort.

7. Urinary tract infections: Through rape, the victim is opened to infectious diseases in the (Penis) for Male and (Virgina) for female. This urinary tract infection makes the victim feel pains while urinating.

8. Pregnancy: This is the most known one, the victim, especially with unprotected sex is 99% exposed to getting pregnant.

9. HIV/AIDS: Acronym for human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), the virus comes through contact with blood, especially from intercourse. Hence, rape victims are prone to this virus and the Virus drains blood and weaken the cells in the body; leaving the victim to different diseases and untimely death.

The Solutions to Rape:

1. Sex Education:

In a quest to profer solutions, Parents are advised to engage in "sex education" to their children. ladies should be modest in their dressings and guys should be more careful.

2.  Prayer:

Dr. Emeka added that "We should be more prayerful because Rape is a spirit. This Country needs to be baptized;  people are just too " desperate.

3. Awareness and publicity from Government, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations:

It is believed that if Government, Parents, NGOs and Individual should focus attention more on curbing rape, by increasing the awareness and dangers in rape, the story could change to reduce the menace of rape around the world.

Interview: Scienter Liability; Legal Action to an Animal Bite

Interview: Scienter Liability; Legal Action to an Animal Bite
Dog in action

Dogs and other Pet Animals

Homes across the world are now found of having various species of Dog; particularly in Nigeria, where the foreign Dogs are gradually replacing the local Dogs.

Different People own Dogs for different reasons; some include for security purposes, sales, while other people breed Dogs as just mere Pet.

Years back in Africa, they reared local Dogs mainly for sales and consumption, while just few reared for security purposes. Beisdes, Just like Police and other security operatives using Dogs to work, local hunters around the world also use Dogs to hunt animals in the bush.

With the foreign Dogs replacing the local Dogs in Africa, chances are high that most of those foreign Dogs are more deadly and tactful than the African local Dogs. What if the Dog misbehaves and attacks passerby or anyone around the area?

What is the relationship between Animal and someone bitten by an Animal?

Are there legal implications? Daily News Report had a robust interview with a legal expert- Gabriel Ayomiposi Esq, to find answers to all these quests and more. Checkout our interview below:

Quest: Did an Animal bite have legal case?

Guest: Yes, it has and there are ways to go about each case.

Quest: Who can one sue in an animal bite?

Guest: Any person can be  sued; whether a minor or adult, who has been bitten or knocked down by an animal who has been improperly or inadequately released or contained can sue for injuries or death caused by an animal bite.

Quest: Who can I sue on this case?

Guest: If you are been injured or any of your relative members was a Victim by the animal, you can sue the person who owns or should have had control of the animal.  But, for a person to be responsible to be sued, they need not be the owner of the animal specifically. However, an owner who retains some control over the animal remains liable even if the animal is partly under the care of others.

Quest: Are there laws or legal act that protects People if they are attacked by any animal other than a dog?

Guest: Certainly Yes. The keeper or owner of an animal of a species that is dangerous by nature, or that the keeper knows or has reason to know that the animal has dangerous propensities or traits, is strictly liable to anyone injured as a result of those traits.

Also, This law provides greater protection, because it applies to keepers other than owners of animals. So, ordinarily not only owners is liable to a lawsuit, keepers having control over the Animal can be sued as well.

Quest: Are Animal owners and the Court aware and ready for lawsuit of such?

Guest: Of course, they are. The provisions are there already. Even in some Countries, Animal owners will be asked to collect license before housing some animals, just like having a Gun.

Quest: Are there any special protections under the law for people who are bitten by the dogs?

Guest: Of course Yes. In Uganda particularly, the owner of a dog is liable for the damages suffered by anyone who is bitten by the dog while in a public place or lawfully in a private place, including on the dog owner’s property, regardless of the prior viciousness of the dog or the owner’s knowledge of the Dog's cruelty. That is, the owner of a dog is liable to anyone who is killed or injured by a dog bite.

As we move further, we shared some cases with our legal expert to see if the cases have proper legal grounds.

Quest: If someone was walking along the roadside and a dog ran out of the house and charged at the person. The person was scared and attempted to run away but fell and broke his/her leg. Though, The dog didn't touch the person in question. Tell us sir, is the person entitled to file a lawsuit against the dog owner/guardian?

Guest: Yes, though, this may be a difficult case to prove in court, but the person should be able to bring a case if he/she reasonably feared for her safety and she can prove that the owner or guidian of the dog knew or should have known of the dog’s propensity to attack people walking on the roadside, but failed to act appropriately.

Quest: If someone goes to visit his neighbor, and he/she got attacked and bitten by the Dog, does he/she has a case?

Guest: Yes. If you can establish that the dog had dangerous propensities or traits you will be able to maintain a strict liability case against the owner.

Also, the owner can be held responsible for negligence if you can prove to the court that the owner failed to exercise ordinary care in controlling the dog; this can include failure to warn the person of the dog’s dangerous traits, failing to restrain a dangerous dog, or if the owner engages in conduct likely to excite the dog causing him to knock down the person. You know these Dogs also listen to their owners, so the owners actions to the Dog also matter.

Quest: What are damages recoverable in animal bite cases?

Guest: A Plaintiff (Complaint/Litigant) is entitled to get damages for past and future and medical expenses, past and future wage loss, past and future pain and suffering.

Also, should the victim dies, his or her survivors/relatives are entitled to recover full compensation for their economic losses that result from the victim’s death, as well as emotional distress damages which stem from the loss of society and care.

Quest: Can someone die or be said to have been cases to death by a Dog bite?

Guest: Yes, anyone can die due to Dog bite. But, that is left for the Autopsy to decided in Court.

Also,  if you are injured by an animal, take note of the following:

The contact address, name of the owner, contacts of possible eye witness to the incident.

Also, report the case to the police around the vicinity of the incident. Make sure you seek urgent Medical help to the injury to prevent the injury from escalating. Securing the live first is more important than filling a lawsuit.

After that, contact the owner of the Dog and keep him/her informed of the injury. Should the animal owner refused to compensate you for the injury or didn't show any care to your satisfaction, please file a lawsuit in court.

Be informed that your suit will not be entertained in court if it is instituted (filed) after the lapse of six years from the date of the incident.

Quest: What if the owner of the Dog did not have money and it is obvious to me

Guest: Keeping a Dog is like keep Children and the Family, you feed all of them, so he/she will have the money. But, the choice is yours to make and do not forget to seek legal advice from your Lawyer.

My Happiest Day as a DJ was when I got a Deal from DMW - DJ T-Swaggs

1. Can we meet you?

Guest: Hello. My name is Temitope Ogundare. A graduate of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University. I was born into a Christian family of four, I have just one sibling. I usually don't know how to answer this question.

2. Why did you choose to study Law ?

Guest: It's funny that I never saw myself studying law. Although I grew up in the dispensation where parents want their wards to be  lawyers and doctors, mine was different. My parent did not compel me to study law. I was in Art class in secondary school, so it just made sense to study law for two reasons. one, law is a professional course and secondly, it was the only "make sense" course in arts class as at then. Basically, I also wanted to enjoy the cruise of being called or referred to as "The Law". That was why I studied Law.

3. What's the story behind the name T-SWAGGS ?

Guest: I earned the name long before I became a DJ and it all started in my  part one days. I think I should mention at this point that I have an elder brother who also studied Law here in OAU. He was like a guide when I came in. He was quite popular because he is a fine boy and dresses well. So before I came in, he was already grooming me on how to dress well. And because I was all always "swagged up" everywhere I go,both within and outside the faculty. So people started calling me "T swagger" or "T swaggu", sometimes "swaggu dripping" etc. So I settled for T Swaggs and that was how I got the name.

4. What are Your strengths and weaknesses?

DJ T-Swaggs: Strengths... Hmm that's relative but I really know how to cook. As for weakness, I hate competition. I am very lazy especially when it comes to studying

INTERVIEWER: Considering the fact that life itself is competitive, how have you been able to withstand competitions around?

DJ T-Swaggs: Working at my own pace! "make i no go do pass myself" lol"

INTERVIEWER: DJ Tswags has been a very popular name on OAU campus.
What prompted you to venture into Disc Jockey?

DJ T-Swaggs: My passion for music, that has been the driving force since day one.

INTERVIEWER: How did it start and when did u start the entertainment business?

DJ T-Swaggs: It's a funny story though, I started with zero naira in the account. I did not have a personal laptop not to talk of turn tables. My phone was my first hard drive, so I usually borrow laptop, connect my phone, load up my songs and play.

INTERVIEWER: Has there been sad tales ever since you started? Can you share some?

DJ T-Swaggs: When I started no one knew me or was willing to give me a chance, so it was really hard to gain recognition. Lol, lots of sad tales. Like I said earlier, gaining recognition was hard. I did pro Bono gigs for a long time and I was soon known as "Dj Pro Bono", that is, free jobs.
It wasn't about the money initially, so it was really tough but I thank God for  it has paid off eventually.

INTERVIEWER: Can you share your happiest moment as a DJ?

DJ T-Swaggs: When DMW approached me with a deal after an event at Amphitheater.

INTERVIEWER: What's DMW?

DJ T-Swaggs: Davido Music Worldwide

INTERVIEWER: As a fresh law graduate that would be proceeding to law school soon, do you intend practicing at all or you have other plans?

DJ T-Swaggs: Law school is a definite yes! Practicing or not, I've not  decided yet.

INTERVIEWER: Considering the fact that Law School is a business on its own, how do you plan on moving further with your entertainment business?

DJ T-Swaggs: Business would be on hold during this period

INTERVIEWER: And you don't see it as setback?

DJ T-Swaggs: Not exactly, I see it as a little sacrifice to achieve something substantial which is to be called to the Nigerian bar

INTERVIEWER: The setbacks you've witnessed too, how did u handle them.

DJ T-Swaggs: Got up, moved on and forged ahead

INTERVIEWER: It couldn't have been easy combining LAW and Disc Jockey, how did you scale through?

DJ T-Swaggs: God's grace, it was hell. Having to be up all night at gigs and still making it for class in the morning, I hardly slept most times.

INTERVIEWER: We thank God for His grace then. Considering the fact that youths are moving faster in entrepreneurship, what's your take on youth leadership? Is it worthwhile?

DJ T-Swaggs: I'm in total support of the youth leadership movement. I believe we need to inject new blood into the system, flush out the old and aged ones and give room for the younger and more vibrant ones.

INTERVIEWER: Can you give us ways in which this can happen? Steps to take?

DJ T-Swaggs: Truth is I'm not so politically inclined, those that know me pretty well know that when it comes to politics, it's a no no for me, I don't think I could tell the steps to take or ways in which that can be achieved

INTERVIEWER: Thank you very much. Definitely, complaints must have come up as per your services, how were you able to handle them?

DJ T-Swaggs: To be honest, to the glory of God no one has complained, at least not to my face

INTERVIEWER: Finally, what are your words of advice for Junior colleagues?

DJ T-Swaggs: Be yourself, have fun while you can, don't forget to study. Live campus life to its fullest... Because you might not get such opportunity again.

INTERVIEWER: Thank you so much for the time spared. It's been interesting. We wish you success in all your future endeavours.

Interview: How I Almost Lost My Virginity

Interview: How I Almost Lost My Virginity

Who is a virgin|What is Rape

A Virgin is a person who has never had se@ual intercour@e, or sometimes, one who has never engaged in any se@ual activity at all. Reports and happenings so far showed that in coming years, having a Virgin as wife may be rear.

Decade of years back, Virgins are treated like queens by their husbands and Families because Virginity is considered as pride of every lady in Africa. Daily News Report finds out if it is still a pride up till today.

Most Females lost their Virginity during teenage, many reasons are attached to this. In our interview with Miss Agboola Bukola, a lady from Ibadan City who said her image should not be fully revealed, we find out her view on Virginity and issues surrounding it.

According to Miss Bukola, she said Virginity is a pride, not only for married Women, but the pride starts from Adulthood. "Virginity is a thing of pride for every lady, not only Woman. Specifically, those ladies that care to protect their Virginity," She said.

While responding to her view on virgin among Females nowadays. She said Virginity is not only rear among Ladies, but from Guys as well. "Why is it that only female should be a virgin, our men too engage in sexual activities, but because they are men, no one and nothing could tell if they are virgins or not.

"Yes, I can say categorically that virginity is rear among us these days because of many factors. To mention some: Peer group influence - Where a lady gets influenced and advised by co-peers to do what they are doing. It's just like a Friend smoking, the other friend will one-day wish to smoke.

"Secondly: Easy access to pronography clips and Images. This is one of the issues civilization and jet age has brought to us. Everyone now has access to the internet, even babies start watching pronography from their parents. Take for instance, a situation where the husband, wife and their children stay in one single room, there is no way the kids won't spy on their parents.

"Let me also add that Ladies nowadays are having more high urge for sex. Hardly can one stay on the internet or in a Community without hearing one sexual act and the other. All these transmit to our brain and we will one-day think of practicing them,"  She explained.

Daily News Report asked if our Guest is still a Virgin. She boldly confirmed to us. According to her, she said she almost lost her Virginity when she was small.

"I'm proud to say I'm still a virgin. Very shocking, some people will not believe because of the way I look. Though, I didn't say I'm very pretty, but once people eyes pretty lady, they instantly run their value statement on her, concluding she is a whore.

"While I was small, myself and my other friends used to do one play called "Daddy and Mummy". Very funny and stupid play where we all ack like husband, wife and children. So, there was this particular day during one of the plays, I was acting like a Mother to a boy; though not really that a boy because he is older than me. After I was done with the stupid cooking where we mixed different stuffs together and call it food; the next scene was for us to sleep together.

"The boy was half-n@ked  behind me, all of a sudden, I felt something touching me. You know now, as children, we all counted it as play. Before I could realize, just as the boy struggles to penetr@te into me, he was fully n@ked already and immediately I looked back, I saw what I ought not to see and I quickly ran out of the enclosed area we made the room. He hasn't done anything stupid yet on me before I realized and ran out," She explained.

Daily News Report asked how she got to her senses. She said her Mother do engage her in S@x-Education and she was made to realize having s@x out of wedlock is a big sin to God.

"My mom engaged me in all the lessons I need to know, after I told her what happened, she warned me to stay away from them. If I had been watching pronogr@phy and other s@xual activities then, I may be tempted to do it on that day," She said.

Miss Bukola however appealed to all women and mothers to engage their children in sex Education before they become adult. She said "...due to advancement in technology, Children can learn anywhere and any time and learning is by what your hear and see. So, our Mothers should not wait for the Child to be grown up before engaging them in s@x-Education, it is very helpful."

Miss Bukola also appealed to Government and relevant Authorises, most especially Religious and Educational Institutions to also join in the crusade to Educate the Girl-child and Males more decently so as to bring sanity to the society.

"Not only the Females should be enlightened, the Males too should be carried along. Government and the Judiciary should also treat rape cases with utmost importance so as to teach those still planning on such act a lesson. The society can be purified again." She added.

Interview: Intelligence Gathering And Technology, Solution To Insecurity

Insecurity in Nigeria is increasing; with Thousands of lives lost, many in captivity, while some are homeless and spending their days at the Internally Displaced Persons Camps (IDP). Though, Billions of Naira has been spent by the Buhari's Administration, but many Nigerians can still not sleep with their two eyes closed due to the increasing rate of Insecurity.

As an alternative, some security experts are of the opinion that more Technologies and intelligence gathering should be encouraged.

Daily News Report had an interview with a Tech Expert-  Engineer Jimi Ajiboye. The interview below:

Quest: It is an honour to have you on the programme sir. Let us begin with Insecurity, what comes to you mind?

Guest: Thanks for having me. Insecurity has been sounding in the nooks and crannies of Nigeria to the extent that it has even become a part and parcel of everyday rhymes of an average Nigerian. I mean, hardly can you see a day without any killing or Kidnapping or other related violent attacks in Nigeria, everything is on Insecurity.

Quest: Overtime, we have been hearing the President, Mohammadu Buhari and the Information and Culture Minister- Lia Mohammed saying Nigeria has become more safer. According to the Presidency, they said Buhari has ended Boko Haram. What is your assessment so far?

Guest: Even without me talking on either the war of Boko Haram has ended or not, a common Nigerian out there knows Boko Haram and other terrorists and Bandits are still at their peaks; Killing and kidnapping innocent Citizens.

The sad truth is Boko Haram and other terrorist sects kill or kidnap on daily basis, but the majority of us aren’t following the trends because we now see killings in Nigeria, particularly in the North East and West as norm.

Go and verify, you will see how devastating the North-West states: Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Kebbi and Sokoto; not leaving Bronu state in the North-East, go there and see the pathetic situation the people are living there. Some of them are now living in the IDP Camps due to insecurity.

Quest: Talking about how  Technology and Intelligence gathering could come in, what is your view on that?

Guest: Deploying Tech power and Intelligence gathering are more better solutions to curbing crimes. Take a look at developing and developed Countries around the world, they all build on technology and intelligence gathering to combat crimes and criminality.

No positive Country could still be fighting War manually these days. They now use tech as a support team in fighting insurgency.

We are now in a Country where Bandits demand Ransoms using telephones, but none of the Telecommunications and other Network Media could track and get the perpetrators.

Recently, Federal government, through the office of the Communication and digital Economy, headed by Prof. Isa-Ali Pantami forced millions of Nigerians to enroll for National Identification Number (NIN) and be linked to their respective SIM cards; defaulters' lines were blocked because of this. According to the Minister, this NIN will also be used to track terrorists and other groups disturbing the peace of Nigeria. Up till today, no single person has been apprehended. Yet, those Sects are still Kidnapping and demanding Ransoms, what happen to the NIN linked to SIM cards in their phones?

Quest: Still on that Engineer Ajiboye, what do you think government can do differently?

Guest: There are so much Nigerian government can do, but creating a policy is one thing, executing and do a follow-up is one other thing. The Bank Verification Number (BVN) was linked to Bank Account holders and this has been monitored to reduce corruption and money laundering. Likewise, the NIN is a data base system for all Nigerians and FG says only SIM cards linked to NIN will function. Definitely, the Phones been used by the kidnappers are with registered SIM cards. Federal government should be able to deploy the required GPS data to track the phones, get their locations and get them arrested and prosecuted.

There are other Tech like drones. Infact, the power of drones have increased in multiple ways and functions; depending on what you need. But, Nigerians are only using drones for video camera and not for proper surveillance and carrying out rapid actions. Drones could shoot bullets and bombs. Instead of deploying thousands of unarmed soldiers to fight a war, why not use drones as rapid response team to get surveillance of the Terrorists' hideout and you later either deploy the soldiers there or engage with the drones. There is need for government to embrace technology.

Quest: Talking on solutions, you mentioned technology, what other ways can also help?

Guest: State Policing. Giving room for regional police will help tackle insecurity. The Federal government is holding too much into its hands that he can't not manage alone. Giving powers to state police and local security outfits will curb insecurity. Kudos to some state governors who are now waking up to the reality to create local security outfits. Those security outfits have come to stay, the Federal Government should have some regulatory functions over them and give the most powers to state Governors to control them. At least, this system was used during the regional system.

Also, more recruit into the Security space: The over all population of the Nigerian Forces isn’t up to 300,000. How could a thousand be protecting over two million Nigerians. There is a need for more recruitment and it must be done on merit, not on how connected the applicants are.

Besides, the Buhari's government should stop integrating Boko Haram and Terrorist group members into the Army. Why will you say because someone who have killed thousands of Nigerians has repented, you now Integrate such person into the Army. The highest a government should do it to obtain intelligence report from such person and use the information to engage.

Others include: more provisions for sophisticated equipment and combat Weapons for the Forces, regular training should be mandated for them as well.

Proper renumerations and prompt salary payments should also be done. It is not easy to join the force, hence, those joining should be well paid. Doing all these, Nigeria would regain her lost glory.

Quest: Thank you for your time Sir, on a final note, what is your advice to Government at all levels towards fighting the insecurity and embracing Tech as one of the  solutions?

Guest: Thank you. Having said all those, government at all levels must work together to fight Insecurity; it's a National issues affecting all states. The Government too much have a willing and dedicated heart to fight Insecurity, and not using one hand to fight insecurity, while the other hand is used to encourage insecurity.

Interview: How Coronvirus Almost Collapse My Business

Business has been regarded as one of the engines that power Economical growth of any Country; either large, small or medium scale. With the Russian and Ukrainian War, Economy across the world is begining to crumble while some Countries, especially those in the African regions are experiencing high degree of inflation. How are businesses surviving these days, even with ASUU Strike?

What are possible solutions? All these and more Daily News Report explored during one and one interview with a business expert and entrepreneur- Mr. Ngozi Felix.

Guest

Quest: What gives you inspiration to start a business?

Guest: I already have passion for business when I was small. I used to follow my Father to his spare part store and also serve as his personal assistant when I am on holiday.

Also, my Father do encourage me to aim at any business before I graduate from the University. Sadly, I didn't enter the university before he passed on. So, had to stop my University process and go into his business.

Quest: But, aside going into your Father's business, you are also selling Flowers and Vegetable Oils, why?

Guest: Yes, I felt there was a need for me to diversify my business, I can't put all my eggs into one basket, so I go into Flower and Oil importation and spelling.

Quest: How do you cope with both businesses sir?

Guest: All requires passion. You need to be passionate towards whatever you do and be positive towards doing it. Practically, I have many boys that work for me; so I pay them at the end of the month and the boys too are also learning from me.

Quest: Do you have issues with Money, Account and records keeping?

Guest: Before I wanted to apply into the university, had wanted to study Computer software because I have some knowledge of operating computers; but like I said, I couldn't further my education because of my Father's death. It is the little knowledge I have that I used to ask for how I could manage my business with computer. So, I hired a computer expert to develop a application for me and that is where I keep my stock records. Any goods that come in or out must be recorded for proper balancing. I also have CCTV cameras in my shops for security purposes. I'm always in any of my shops to check the activities too. Technology soften my works so far.

Quest: Indeed, you have used the technology so nice. But, there are other business Men/Women out there that does not embrace technology, what is your advice to them?

Guest: Technology is good, once you know how best to use it wisely, embrace it. It's cost-effective and I believe so much in Tech to enhance business. But, as a boss, u also have to know how to use it so that your employees won't use the Technology against you.

Quest: How are you coping during this Economy and Russian/Ukrainian War?

Guest: hmmm, the economy is harsh because inflation is taking over all goods and services. The sad one is the war, I am praying it should end so quick because it is affecting the price of goods every day.

Both Russia and Ukraine are regarded as one of the highest producers of Oil and Flowers, with the war, they stopped exportation. Hence, we have little access to Flower and oil here in Nigeria and at the highest price. Dollar too is rising everyday, this is affecting import of goods to Nigeria, something I will spend 1k to import, over 6k will be needed to do it currently, and we don't know what tomorrow will bring forth. I'm only coping because I believe this time shall pass.

Quest: How can government come in to help boost your business?

Guest: Government can not just come in to boost my businesses, I would rather tell government to work more on building the economy back to the Giant it stands in Africa before. This current government is not encouraging business at all; with the increase in Tax, VAT and other tarrrif, all these could force Industrialists and business Owners relocate their business to other favourable Countries.

Quest: Are you saying Government should not collect Tax and others?

Guest: No, all I am saying is that, government should rather reduce those taxes and grant waiver on some goods and services considering the Dollar rate and inflation. If Government should do this, we the Marketers and Producers will also reduce price of good and services to our Customers and Retailers. We are also not happy with the  price increase.

Quest: What advice will you give to government in this current situation?

Guest: I will advise government to work more on diversifying the Country's economy. Nigerian government rely solemnly on Crude oil. Let them work on Agriculture and Power Sectors too. Lots of Companies relocated to Ghana due to bad electricity in Nigeria.  More importantly, the security has worsen. More works need to be done.

Quest: What is your advice to Youths out there?

Guest: I will advice the Youths to make use of this ASUU Strike to learn a trade. Education is a light, but handiwork is currently the key to self-sustainability.

There is no white-collar job anywhere that will feed you well. One trick Youth don't know is that, before an employer employs you, he already knows he can pay you 30k and get a profit of 60k from your Labour. Let them use this ASUU Strike period to do something meaningful with their lives.
