Breaking: SOMASSA General Secretary- (DReal) Might be Facing a Criminal Charge after 24 hours of Refusal to hand over Association property.

The General Secretary of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences - Hon. Comr. D'Real has been given a 24 hour ultimatum to submit the association property in his possession.

Information from a close source to the house said the General Secretary has gone for SIWES Program which made him unavailable in school. But, the General Secretary didnt notify neither the Students' Executive Council (SEC) or the Students' Representative Council (SRC) so as to be aware of his absence formally as demanded by the Constitution. His absence has hampered the activities of the association as the General Secretary didn't hand over the association property in his possession.

Should the General Secretary failed to submit the documents, he might be facing a battle of criminal offence with the SRC as indicated in the letter from the SRC, signed by the Speaker of the house - Rt. Hon. Oyewusi Adeshina (Mania).

The letter from the SRC reads "The general secretary of social and management sciences student association in the person of Comr, D Real, is given a 24 hour ultimatum to return the property of the association ( 15 copies of the association letter head) and failure to do so will be tagged a criminal according to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

Mainwhile, the General Secretary has said he can't be charged for criminal offence became he isn't around the School for now, but has handed the said documents to the Financial Secretary- Comr. Indomie before his journey. This decision, some have criticized him of why he didn't hand the documents to his Assistant General Secretary- Comr. Adecocoa being next to him in position. The General Secretary is expected to either hand over the property to the association or be facing a criminal charge soon.

Following the Faculty Primary Election which was conducted for SOMASSA SUG 001 Aspirants, our correspondent had an interview with one of the contenders who happened to lost the election to his opponent.

We asked about Hon. D'Real's view as regard the Election conducted. According to him, he says "It wasn't good enough. I wouldn't have taken it. But I saw that I needed to relax my head and the people who I had visions for didn't even want me, so they created a system to sabotage my ambition." 

He expressed concern as to the process of the election. He however said he has lots of vision for students, but he felt those who organized the election didn't want him to achieve those visions in the first place. As put by him " The people who organised it didn't want me in the first place. We all have individual preferences. But leadership is knowing those who want you and who do not." 

Recall that the decision to hold a primary Election was a collective decision at the Faculty's Stakeholders meeting; which the two parties both agreed to abide by the decision of the primary Election.

He expressed his view as regard the Electoral committee. He said enough notice wasn't given to the Electorates as regard the voting process. As put this:  "The people who were going to vote were made known to me in less than 24hours to the election."  Though the notice was delayed as witnessed by our correspondence; but some stakeholders of the Faculty said the delay was as a result of time factor. The school was closed of session; hence need be for the Election to quickly come up so as to allow Students who want to travel home to do so on time.

Hon. D'Real however pledged his support for the winner- Comrade Multiple and all others aspirants from the Faculty. He said " I accept the outcome and will support the faculty candidates.".
