Babcock University has a history that dates back to 1959 when the Adventist College of West Africa was established. In 1999 it was granted full university status and became Babcock University. The university is named in honour of American missionary, David C. Babcock. Babcock was known for his contribution to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nigeria in 1914. There are six faculties within the university: computing and engineering sciences, education and humanities, law and security studies, management sciences, public and allied health, and science and technology. Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a range of undergraduate degree programmes. The university is home to two schools, the school of nursing sciences and the Veronica Adeleke school of social sciences. There is also the Benjamin Carson College of Medicine which provides medical education to students. The College of Postgraduate Studies offers three types of programmes for students seeking to further develop their education: postgraduate diploma, master’s and doctorate degree. NNI: Can we meet you?

Guest: I am Adegbite Adebayo Samuel. I'm a 26years old graduate of Political science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. I was born into a family of five although, my father is late, as far back as 1997. I'm a Music minister with a passion to preach Jesus all around the world with the sounds of Heaven. I hail from Oyo state

NNI: "But my father is late, as far back as 1997..." With this, how was growing up been for you?

Guest: Well, It was tough, really tough, especially for my mother who suddenly found herself a single parent. It was like the silver spoon was taken away, but nonetheless, she did everything in her power by the grace of God to give myself and my siblings quality education, good morals and taught us to love the Lord. A lot of credit goes to God through her.

NNI: Inspiring! Your mum is indeed a strong woman. I thank God for His grace upon her life.

Guest: Yeah, God be praised.

NNI: What inspired Aninilematanile?

Bayo Adegbite: After completing my undergraduate studies, I had been trusting God for an unusual grace to compose songs that will bless many around the world. I just want to be a vessel unto honour. One day, as I was heading back home from work, I started singing in the spirit (singing in tongues), a melody then struck my heart, I couldn't stop singing it, but it was still in tongues, so I asked God to help put words of understanding to fit into the melody, and not long after, I remembered a beautiful name of God I got to know in one of rehearsals in the fellowship meeting (RCFOAU) in the university. Aninilematannile! Meaning The Inexhaustible God, The One who is All-Sufficient. That was it! A new song had arrived!!!

NNI: Wow! Interesting. When did you start music?

Bayo Adegbite: I have been involved in music since childhood, in fact every member of family sings really well, but started 2015 professionally when I released my debut single.

NNI: As a gospel artiste, please narrate your salvation experience?

Guest: I got saved through a friend way back 2007. He just showed me love and then I saw how things were working out for him, so I decided to give God a chance, but now I know He gave me chance! No regrets!

NNI: Oh Wow! Who are your music mentors? Your role models in this field?

Guest: My music mentor is my Mother, Mrs Adegbite Stella Olayide, she taught me how to stay on key by dragging me to weekly services to lead the praise and worship lol and Role models are Don Moen, Wale Adenuga and Nathaniel Bassey.

NNI: God, Music and Man... What do you think is the bond?

Bayo Adegbite: God is the originator of music and also the creator of man. The bond here is that, music is one of the most potent weapon in the hands of men to establish and advance the kingdom of God on earth.

NNI: Wow! Recently Tasha Hobbs collaborated with Nicki Minaj. What do you think of gospel artistes collaborating with secular ones?

Guest: I'm not one to judge, but if i could just lend my voice. My stand is that Whatever is Gospel is too precious to be meddled with the secular world. There's a distinct line between we do in the kingdom and what goes on in the secular. We preach Christ, they preach self, so when we involve the secular guys in collaboration, in my opinion I think there's a loss of sense of identity.

NNI: Wow! What's the future of gospel music in Nigeria?

Bayo Adegbite: Beyond words can say or describe!!! There's an army rising in this country. God is raising music ministers after His heart

NNI: And I'm one of them! (smiles)

Bayo Adegbite: Oh yes! Music ministers are churning out great songs. And believe soonest, our songs will change the course of this country, Africa, and the world at large for good.

NNI: Amen! How do you balance your music with other obligations-- career, etc?

Guest: It's not easy but I'll just say you'll always find time for whatever you love or love doing. So with God's help I try to prioritise well

NNI: What is your greatest challenge as a musician?

Bayo Adegbite: I don't know how best to answer this but, I put a lot of good pressure on myself and the good pressure is to better the person I was yesterday by improving today, but Jesus is up to the task through me. Let me just say, staying positive and motivated in midst of discouragements is my greatest challenge.

NNI: You started in 2015? Wow! That's great. What do you count as your achievements so far?

Bayo Adegbite: I believe my greatest achievements is how the songs God has given has touched the lives of people. Recently someone told how she got baptised in the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues while singing one of the songs God gave me. That for me is a great achievement!

NNI: Wow! I love this testimony. Where do you see yourself in next five years?

Bayo Adegbite: Next five years! Well I believe by then by the special grace of God, I would have joined of frontiers in the gospel music ministry in Nigeria and the world at large to keep advancing the kingdom of God through music

NNI: What would you love to say to your supporters and to inspire other musicians?

Bayo Adegbite: To all those who have supported me so far, I want to say a big thank you. I'm immensely grateful. I also humbly ask that you keep praying for me like you've always done. May God keep us all in Jesus name. I love you all.

To my fellow music ministers, we must keep pushing for excellence and trust God for every step we intend take. let's keep raising the banner of Christ, drawing men solely to Him.

Millions Vote For Elon Musk Stepping Down As Twitter Boss

Millions of Twitter users have voted for the owner of social media platform, Elon Musk, to step down as the Chief Executive Officer.

Musk had put up a poll on Monday, asking if he should step down and gave yes and no options.

He tweeted, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.”

The results are in. 57.5 per cent of the 17,502,391 votes recorded in the poll were yes, meaning he should step down.

Meanwhile, 42.5 per cent preferred that he stays at the helm of affairs at the company.

1. Can we meet you?

Guest: Hello. My name is Temitope Ogundare. A graduate of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University. I was born into a Christian family of four, I have just one sibling. I usually don't know how to answer this question.

2. Why did you choose to study Law ?

Guest: It's funny that I never saw myself studying law. Although I grew up in the dispensation where parents want their wards to be lawyers and doctors, mine was different. My parent did not compel me to study law. I was in Art class in secondary school, so it just made sense to study law for two reasons. one, law is a professional course and secondly, it was the only "make sense" course in arts class as at then. Basically, I also wanted to enjoy the cruise of being called or referred to as "The Law". That was why I studied Law.

3. What's the story behind the name T-SWAGGS ?

Guest: I earned the name long before I became a DJ and it all started in my part one days. I think I should mention at this point that I have an elder brother who also studied Law here in OAU. He was like a guide when I came in. He was quite popular because he is a fine boy and dresses well. So before I came in, he was already grooming me on how to dress well. And because I was all always "swagged up" everywhere I go,both within and outside the faculty. So people started calling me "T swagger" or "T swaggu", sometimes "swaggu dripping" etc. So I settled for T Swaggs and that was how I got the name.

4. What are Your strengths and weaknesses?

DJ T-Swaggs: Strengths... Hmm that's relative but I really know how to cook. As for weakness, I hate competition. I am very lazy especially when it comes to studying

INTERVIEWER: Considering the fact that life itself is competitive, how have you been able to withstand competitions around?

DJ T-Swaggs: Working at my own pace! "make i no go do pass myself" lol"

INTERVIEWER: DJ Tswags has been a very popular name on OAU campus.
What prompted you to venture into Disc Jockey?

DJ T-Swaggs: My passion for music, that has been the driving force since day one.

INTERVIEWER: How did it start and when did u start the entertainment business?

DJ T-Swaggs: It's a funny story though, I started with zero naira in the account. I did not have a personal laptop not to talk of turn tables. My phone was my first hard drive, so I usually borrow laptop, connect my phone, load up my songs and play.

INTERVIEWER: Has there been sad tales ever since you started? Can you share some?

DJ T-Swaggs: When I started no one knew me or was willing to give me a chance, so it was really hard to gain recognition. Lol, lots of sad tales. Like I said earlier, gaining recognition was hard. I did pro Bono gigs for a long time and I was soon known as "Dj Pro Bono", that is, free jobs.
It wasn't about the money initially, so it was really tough but I thank God for it has paid off eventually.

INTERVIEWER: Can you share your happiest moment as a DJ?

DJ T-Swaggs: When DMW approached me with a deal after an event at Amphitheater.

INTERVIEWER: What's DMW?

DJ T-Swaggs: Davido Music Worldwide

INTERVIEWER: As a fresh law graduate that would be proceeding to law school soon, do you intend practicing at all or you have other plans?

DJ T-Swaggs: Law school is a definite yes! Practicing or not, I've not decided yet.

INTERVIEWER: Considering the fact that Law School is a business on its own, how do you plan on moving further with your entertainment business?

DJ T-Swaggs: Business would be on hold during this period

INTERVIEWER: And you don't see it as setback?

DJ T-Swaggs: Not exactly, I see it as a little sacrifice to achieve something substantial which is to be called to the Nigerian bar

INTERVIEWER: The setbacks you've witnessed too, how did u handle them.

DJ T-Swaggs: Got up, moved on and forged ahead

INTERVIEWER: It couldn't have been easy combining LAW and Disc Jockey, how did you scale through?

DJ T-Swaggs: God's grace, it was hell. Having to be up all night at gigs and still making it for class in the morning, I hardly slept most times.

INTERVIEWER: We thank God for His grace then. Considering the fact that youths are moving faster in entrepreneurship, what's your take on youth leadership? Is it worthwhile?

DJ T-Swaggs: I'm in total support of the youth leadership movement. I believe we need to inject new blood into the system, flush out the old and aged ones and give room for the younger and more vibrant ones.

INTERVIEWER: Can you give us ways in which this can happen? Steps to take?

DJ T-Swaggs: Truth is I'm not so politically inclined, those that know me pretty well know that when it comes to politics, it's a no no for me, I don't think I could tell the steps to take or ways in which that can be achieved

INTERVIEWER: Thank you very much. Definitely, complaints must have come up as per your services, how were you able to handle them?

DJ T-Swaggs: To be honest, to the glory of God no one has complained, at least not to my face

INTERVIEWER: Finally, what are your words of advice for Junior colleagues?

DJ T-Swaggs: Be yourself, have fun while you can, don't forget to study. Live campus life to its fullest... Because you might not get such opportunity again.

Davido To Perform At World Cup Closing Ceremony

Music star, Davido, is set to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The music star, who has stayed away from social media and events aside from his uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s inauguration ceremony, since the death of his son, Ifeanyi, has confirmed that he will be performing in Qatar.

Chinese businessman, Stephen Hung, shared the news via his Instagram story on Thursday.

Hung expressed his excitement saying, “So happy my bro #davido confirmed he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there."

The World Cup's closing ceremony will take place on December 18.

Music director, TG Omori, has fulfilled his promise to shoot a video for a viral song, 'Shey you dey whine me ni.’

He shared a photo of himself with the singer, Austine Emmanuel, on his Twitter handle on Saturday, saying, “Everything is ok when you in front of my camera. December we attack. Shey you dey whine me ni!!!”

Omori had in October tweeted his desire to meet the singer and said that the viral song deserved to have a video shot by him. He tweeted, "I desperately need to meet that guy that sang that 'Shey you Dey whine me' song. That song deserves a TG OMORI video cos what?!!!”

Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has warned Nigerian girls to be wary of men coming from abroad to spend the Christmas holiday in Nigeria.

She made the remark on her Instagram page on Tuesday.

Njoku said a lot of them will come into the country with the intention of deceiving them and would sway a lot of ladies with their accents.

The actress recounted a time during her childhood days, “a street brother came from London telling them he has a law firm, years later she traveled and saw the same person working in a barber’s shop in the UK, so no one should be deceived with I Just Got Back (IJGB).”

Sophia Momodu Apologises For Celebrating Daughter's Dad, Davido, On 30th Birthday

Sophia Momodu, the mother of singer Davido’s first child, Imade, has apologised publicly for a birthday post she made on her daughter's behalf to mark his birthday.

She issued the apology via Imade’s Instagram account on Tuesday.

This comes after fans slammed her for being insensitive after posting a photo of Davido carrying Ifeanyi, who died last month on her daughter's Instagram account to wish him a happy birthday.

She wrote, “l realise that the earlier post may come across as insensitive and I sincerely apologise as that was not the intention. Imade deeply loves her father and all her siblings, and as a mother, I’m doing my best to guide her through the difficult emotion of grief from the loss of her brother whilst trying to celebrate her father’s birthday.

The absence of Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, at the opening ceremony of the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup on Sunday has been explained.

There was confusion over the singer’s performance at the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Fans who thought the singer was supposed to perform at the opening ceremony on Sunday alongside fellow Nigerian artist CKay became worried when he did not show up on stage.

However, the ‘Buga’ star, who confirmed he would perform at the event, stated that he was billed to perform on the 23rd of November and not the 20th, as speculated.

Kizz Daniel had, in a post on his Instagram page on Friday, 11th of November, confirmed that he would perform at the World Cup in Qatar.

He wrote: “This one is for Africa. This one is for Vado nation. See you in Qatar World Cup on 23/11/2022.”

Meanwhile, those who thought that the singer was supposed to perform at the opening ceremony stormed social media to express concern over his and other Nigerian artists’ absence at the event.

Bayankole: Tribe where bride's aunt must have sex with Groom to test his potency

Marriage in this Bayankole tribe is of great importance as parents derive joy and pride from their children’s marriage.

According to this Ugandan tradition, when a girl gets to the age of eight or nine, it is the duty of her aunt to groom her for family life.

Virginity in this culture is held in high esteem so the girls must abstain from premarital s€x.

The Ankole tribe considers the slim physique unattractive. To them, fat is simply sexy. So when girls get to the ages eight and nine, they are required to go through a fattening process. This is usually done to speed up the weight gain of the girls so they can attract a husband.

The Banyakole marriage involves several ceremonies including a Giveaway period know as “Kuhingira” where the relatives and friends of the bride present her with gifts such as cows and other food items to take to her matrimonial home.

On the wedding day, a feast is organized at the bride’s home where the father is to slaughter a bull while at the groom’s home there is also a feast to consummate the marriage.

But first, there has to be one last ceremony, that involves tests that must be done by the bride’s aunt.

It involves the bride’s aunt testing the sexual ability of the groom by having s€x with him. This is to make sure they are potent.

During the act, she learns all his s€x tricks as well as favorite styles so she can gift her niece with pointers on what the goom likes sexually.

After confirmation is done the bride is then taught by her Aunt and allowed to consummate the marriage by being sent by her Aunt to the husband with her blessings.

Social media users have been reacting to an advertisement by luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, featuring two football legends, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The French luxury fashion house shared the advertisement of Ronaldo and Messi playing chess via its verified X handle on Saturday.

The advertisement of the two legendary footballers have left some fans wondering how much the advert might have cost while others admired it.

A magazine, zenmagafrica, tweeted “This is iconic!!! Mesmerizing!!! Seeing the two greatest of our generation. Two warriors. Two different kings. Two men who have inspired millions of young kids to believe that someday, they too can be great. We love this shot so much."
