Paul Pogba is set for Man Utd medical

Manchester United are on the brink of re-signing Paul Pogba from Juventus in a deal worth over £100m ($131m).

United will pay a world record £89m (105m euros) transfer fee, with other costs such as agents fees to be added.

Pogba will have a medical in the next few
days with the deal due to be completed in midweek.

The 23-year-old, who left United for £1.5m in 2012, is set to return for a fee that surpasses Gareth Bale's £85m move to Real Madrid in 2013.

The Old Trafford club still have to agree personal terms with the France midfielder, although that is expected to be a formality.

United boss Jose Mourinho said on Friday he wanted the deal done by the time his side play their opening Premier League game at Bournemouth on 14 August.

In four seasons in Turin Pogba, who helped France reach the Euro 2016 final, won four league titles.

He is Jose Mourinho's fourth signing at United, after Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

It is the first time in 20 years an English club will have paid a world record fee.
Newcastle United were the last to do so when they spent £15m signing England striker Alan Shearer from Blackburn Rovers.

Pogba joined United from French club Le Havre in 2009 as a 16-year-old, but made just a handful of appearances before his contract expired in July 2012.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devils' manager at the time, said: "I don't think he showed us any respect at all so, to be honest, I'm quite happy [he is leaving]."

Pogba has made 178 appearances for Juventus, scoring 34 goals, and helped the club reach the 2015 Champions League final. The Serie A side had offered him a new contract, while Real Madrid were also interested in signing him.

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, also represents striker Ibrahimovic, who signed for United on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain, and midfielder Mkhitaryan, who joined from Borussia Dortmund.

Athletic Bilbae midfielder Mikel Sam Jose claims cesar Azpilicueta is not leaving Chelsea

The Bilbao man, who spent some time with the Chelsea fullback during the Euros, said his mate shouldn’t be leaving England so soon.

In an interview with Marca, San Jose said: “I keep
seeing Azpilicueta at Chelsea.

“With the Euro, it seemed that everyone wanted him. We talked at lot. I know him, and however, I see him wearing blue.”

This will go as a blow for the Athletic Bilbao fans who hope of seeing Azpilicueta at the club next season. The rumours regarding a move were dragged for a few months, in a deal which would cost the Spanish side around €15m, according to the Spanish media.

There was also speculation saying Azpilicueta would join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, which never seemed too likely after all.

Mourinho is taking a risk ditching Schweinsteiger

Even the best have to accept that, eventually, someone younger and better will arrive to take your place. But it is debatable whether Mourinho has either at United, argues MEN's Rob Dawson.

You can make a strong argument for Mourinho’s decision to
cut Schweinsteiger from his United squad. The German midfielder is the wrong side of 30, his injury record is poor and he takes home a bigger wage than almost anyone else at Old Trafford. Mourinho has inherited a bloated squad from Louis van Gaal and the axe has to fall somewhere. The Portuguese coach wants to work with a tight, competitive group, ideally with two players in every position. And Mourinho has decided Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin are his two holding midfielders.

Schweinsteiger’s situation is as much to do with the differences between Mourinho and Van Gaal as anything else. Van Gaal wanted to play with two deep midfielders last season so needed three in his squad. Mourinho only wants to play with one with another, more energetic, midfielder alongside him, so only needs two. Schweinsteiger is the odd man out. It has been billed as a personal snub for a man who, just two years ago, was named the best player in the World Cup final. But it is also an endorsement of Carrick and Schneiderlin. And, because of that, it’s also a risk.

Carrick has just turned 35 and is well into the stage of his career where niggling injuries become bigger issues. Schneiderlin was relatively injury-free last season but his form was erratic in his first year following his move from Southampton. United’s pre-season has highlighted Mourinho’s problem. Schneiderlin started in the 5-2 win over Galatasaray in Gothenburg. But that United went in at the break 2-1 down owed much to the Frenchman failing to get a grip of Wesley Sneijder. He went off at half-time and was replaced with Carrick. It was Carrick’s turn to start against Everton on Wednesday but Ross Barkley won their individual battle.

Neither Schneiderlin or Carrick have done enough to be sure they will start against Bournemouth next weekend. And even while he trains with the reserves, Schweinsteiger could be forgiven for thinking he has still got a chance. Mourinho, however, has all but confirmed his time at Old Trafford is over. Great players don’t stay great forever. Age catches up with them all and it has taken its toll on Schweinsteiger – on his body if not his mind. Even the best have to accept that, eventually, someone younger and better will arrive to take your place. But it is debatable whether Mourinho has either at United.

Armitstead says people will doubt her forever Olympics

The 27-year-old was suspended and faced missing the Olympics before the first test was declared void.

Speaking before Sunday's road race, a tearful Armitstead told BBC Sport she would "never cheat in life".
"In this situation I'm never going to win. If I win, people will say it's because of something else," she added.

Matteo insist he is ready to play any role Mourinho ask to this season

The versatile 26-year-old joined the Red Devils last summer but only played a bit part role last term, making 28 appearances in all competitions.

The Italy international also acknowledged that competition for first team places at Old Trafford will be strong.

“I think it is good to have a healthy rivalry when

you are part of a great squad,” Darmian said.

“You need to be ready whenever the coach gives you a chance. Mourinho is a great manager, his success speaks for itself.

“Personally I will try to be ready in any position that he decides to play me. I want to improve so I can start the new season in the best possible way.”

Ivanovic admits he don't not feel 100%

The Serbian defender continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

"I still don’t feel 100 per cent but I think I will be ready for the start of the season," said the right-back. "When you look back at the tour it was fantastic and there
were a lot of new things for us. We’ve been adapting and working as a team which is the most important thing and we’ve been training really hard during this period."

"It’s different because it’s new but the harder it is during pre-season the better it will be for you during the season, that’s why we’ve been working hard. We all hope we will feel better. Not everything will be perfect at the beginning but we will correct things and work together."

The new boss, Antonio Conte, provides the needed motivation to his players.

"He has passion during games and sessions, you can see that," Ivanovic added. "He wants us to work as a team, be strong, motivated and hungry for every second during the game, which is positive. We are still adapting and we can still improve a lot.

"I think we are going to play with a different shape which will be new for us and our opponents, I hope we are on a good road.

"At the moment it’s very difficult and dangerous to say anything about the future because we know how difficult the league is. We can promise to give everything in each game, we can improve and we will improve. How far can we go? I think we need to take it step by step."

The veteran says the changing Premier League landscape makes the upcoming season even more interesting.

"After last season when Leicester won it they all want to be the next big surprise, it’s going to be very exciting," he said. "Every game will be a different story for us."

World heavyweight champion faces UK Anti-Doping charge

World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been charged with a doping offence by the UK's anti-doping body.

Ukad revealed it suspended Fury on 24 June - the day the Briton announced he was pulling out his his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko because
of injury.

But Fury appealed and the suspension has now been lifted until a hearing in front of the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) at an as yet undetermined date.

The 27-year-old says he will sue Ukad over its claims he used a banned drug.

The Sunday Mirror reported on 26 June that traces of the banned substance nandrolone were found in a urine sample taken from Fury in February 2015.

He denied the claim and his legal team says the result of tests from March and May 2015 are contradictory.

Fury's cousin and fellow boxer Hughie has also been charged.
Fury beat Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA and WBO heavyweight titles in November.

Ukad does not normally reveal if athletes have been suspended until hearings have taken place and said it had made the news about Fury known after comments from the boxer and his team had led to the matter becoming public knowledge.

A spokeswoman said: "UK Anti-Doping can confirm that both boxers were charged on 24 June, 2016 with presence of a prohibited substance.

"The UK Anti-Doping Rules allow athletes to challenge the imposition of a provisional suspension and the independent National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) today lifted the athletes' suspensions, pending full determination of the charges.

"These charges will be heard at a hearing before the NADP in due course."
Fury announced on 24 June that he was pulling out of a planned Klitschko rematch, scheduled for 9 July, saying he had injured his ankle in training.

On Tuesday, Fury's legal team said proceedings had been issued in the High Court.
"The two boxers strenuously deny taking any performance-enhancing drugs," said lawyer Lewis Power.

"However, during the last five weeks leaks about these charges have appeared in the press and both boxers have been the targets of continual abusive language on Twitter."

Manchester City are close to signing Colombia forward Marlos Moreno.

City will pay Colombian club Atletico Nacional £4.75m for the 19-year-old, and he is then likely to join La Liga side Deportivo La Coruna on loan.

Moreno would be Pep Guardiola's third signing this
week, following the arrival of Leroy Sane from Schalke and Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras.

Guardiola's overall spending since replacing Manuel Pellegrini as manager in July now exceeds £100m.

In addition to strengthening his current squad, former Bayern Munich boss Guardiola has prioritised signing highly-rated younger players for the future.

The Spaniard is still aiming to sign a central defender, with Everton's John Stones his number one target.

Josh Warrington beat Patrick Hyland in his home city of Leeds to retain his WBC International featherweight title.

Warrington stretched his unbeaten record to 24 wins with
a ninth-round stoppage of the Irishman to set up a possible world title bout.

Hyland, 32, failed to make the weight, which would have negated a title win, but that never looked likely as Warrington, 25, dominated throughout.

Dillian Whyte beat David Allen for the WBC International heavyweight title.
Londoner Whyte, 28, was an emphatic winner by a unanimous decision as he took his career tally to 18 wins from 19 fights.

On the undercard, Commonwealth champion Luke Campbell beat Argenis Mendez of the Dominican Republic to claim the vacant WBC silver lightweight title.

Hull's Campbell, 28, a gold medallist at the London Olympics in 2012, survived an early knock-down against the former world champion to win by a comprehensive unanimous decision.

Alex Ferguson give his approval on signing Pogba

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly given his approval for the club to re-sign Paul Pogba this summer.

The 23-year-old left Old Trafford on a free transfer
during Ferguson's tenure in 2012, with the Scot famously falling out with the player and his agent Mino Raiola over the saga.

However, the Daily Mail reports that new boss Jose Mourinho sought Ferguson's opinion over a dinner at the club's training ground, and that the 74-year-old gave the deal the green light.

Pogba will become the world's most expensive player should the transfer go through after the two clubs agreed on a fee that could cost United up to £100
