Buhari To Address Nigerians Today, as First Phase of COVID-19 Lockdown Ease Ends

President Muhammad Buhari will on Monday address the nation as the gradual easing of the lockdown ends.

Buhari announced on April 27 the gradual phasing out of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the FCT and strict interstate movements restrictions for 2 weeks which begun on May 4.

As the two weeks come to an end, the national coordinator of the presidential task force (PTF), Dr Sanni Aliyu on covid-19 said the president would on Monday address the nation.

Aliyu who was on Channel TV's "politics today" on Sunday was asked on the next action of the PTF on covid-19 as it is evident many people are flouting the lockdown's guidelines. In his response, Aliyu said the president is the only one who can determine what happens next. Whether there would be a second phase of the lockdown or not is the president's decision.
