Oyo Government Begins Recruitment: To employ 7,500 Secondary School Staff

Oyo state government has announced recruitment into teaching and non-teaching positions of the state's post primary schools teaching service.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 10, 2020, Mrs. Olabisi Oderinde, Permanent Secretary of the State's Ministry of Education said the Post-Primary Schools Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) is inviting applications from suitable qualified candidates who will fill existing vacancies in the Public Secondary Schools in respective disciplines.

The subjects advertised include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Accounting, Yoruba Language, French, Geography, Basic Technology, History, Government, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Physical and Health Education, Guidance and Counselling and Christian Religious Knowledge/Islamic Religious Studies.

According to the release, teaching staff applicants should possess a combination of the National Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Arts (Education) – B.A (Ed)/ Bachelor of Arts (B.A); Bachelor of Science (Education) – B.Sc. (Ed)/Bachelor of Science (B.Sc); or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed); from recognized Institutions.

In addition, they should also possess the Primary School Leaving Certificate/Testimonial, Senior Secondary School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) credits including English and Mathematics, NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate, Birth Certificate (the National Population Commission) or Affidavit of Declaration of Age, Local Government Identification and Evidence of Change of Name (if applicable)

Applications were also invited into non-teaching staff positions. All applicants are requested to collect application forms at Room AG 39, Oyo State Post Primary Schools' Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Secretariat, Ibadan or the nearest TESCOM Zonal Offices in Saki, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Eruwa from Tuesday, 11th February, 2020 to Monday, 24th February, 2020 from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily.

All application forms are to be submitted on or before Monday, 24th February, 2020. Thereafter, qualified shortlisted candidates would be invited for CBT test and interview at a date that will be announced later.
