Gokada is not Okada- Fahim Saleh, CEO Gokada laments Lagos Ban on Motorcycles

Following the Lagos state government ban on motorcycles and tricycles in Lagos, Nigeria, CEO Gokada, took to his official Instagram page to decry the effects of the ban on the startup and its employees as well as the benefits to the members of the society.

Fahim Saleh founded the Lagos-based transport service app, Gokada, in February 2018. He holds the position of co-CEO alongside Ayodeji Adewunmi. Gokada has since become an accepted and often-used means of efficient transport in the populous city until the recent ban on motorcycles by the government.

Speaking on the safety of the riders and the roads, Saleh says ''Since our relaunch in September, we have had about 0.1% accidents which is 250 accidents in over 350,000 rides.''

Just yesterday, we reported the protest against the motorcycle ban by Gokada and Max.ng riders with the message ''Regulate Not Ban''. Reports from our correspondent reveal that deliberation is on as regards the ban and a new release would issued soon.
