The new postgraduate hall located near Queen Idia hall was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel I. Olayinka on Wednesday August 14, 2019. The new hall was named after the first female professor in the University of Ibadan, Adetowun Ogunsheye. Professor Ogunsheye Adetowun was said to be 93-year old.

Dignitaries were present for the event among which were the provost, Queen Idia hall mistress, Dean of student, and many other. As the commissioning commenced, the VC read out the biography of Prof. Adetowun. The official opening which was the cutting of the ribbon was done by the woman in whom the hall was named after. After this, everyone was showed around the hall.

The new hall of three floors has a toilet, kitchen and bathroom to each room. Each room will be assigned to two females since only two wooden bed bunks and chairs were seen.
Report has it that the new hall is well secured with CCTV cameras and the accommodation payment fee hasn’t been agreed on yet. However, allocations of rooms to interested females begin as soon as possible.

In a bid to end the commissioning event, the Queen Idia Hall mistress, Prof. Ajibola Falaye gave the closing remark.
